NGK to Bolster Production Capacity for Ceramic Products for Diesel Automotive Exhaust Gas Purifiers.

NGK Insulators, Ltd. announced today that it has decided to construct a new, second plant for its Polish subsidiary, NGK CERAMICS POLSKA SP. Z O.O (Gliwice, Silesia Province, Poland) to keep up with increasing demand for ceramic products for diesel automotive exhaust gas purifiers. The new plant is scheduled to commence production in January 2017, and is to enhance NGK’s production capacity for silicon carbide (SiC) diesel particulate filters (DPFs) by approximately 30%.

NOx Sensor Production Capacity to Increase 1.5-Fold

NGK Insulators, Ltd. announced today that it has decided to increase its production capacity for high precision NOx sensors, which are used for on-board measurement of nitrogen oxide (NOx) concentration in vehicle exhaust gas. NGK will increase its annual production capacity by approximately 1.5 times to 10 million units per year by October 2015, establishing a supply system to cope with expanding demand.

NOx Sensor Wins Invention Prize at National Commendation for Invention

NGK to Bolster Production Facilities for Ceramic Products for Automotive Exhaust Gas Purifiers in Poland – NGK’s First Mass Production of gasoline particulate filter (GPF) for direct-injection gasoline engine vehicles

NGK Insulators, Ltd. has announced its decision to bolster production facilities for cordierite ceramic products to purify automotive exhaust at NGK CERAMICS POLSKA Sp. z o. o. (Gliwice, Silesian Province, Poland; „NGK CERAMICS POLSKA“), a manufacturing subsidiary in Poland, in response to an increase in demand in Europe. NGK will increase production of large-size HONEYCERAM® substrates for automobile catalytic converters for use in diesel vehicles, and will also start production of cordierite diesel particulate filters (DPF). Furthermore, NGK also plans to commence its first mass production of gasoline particulate filters (GPF) for removing particulate matter from the exhaust of direct-injection gasoline engine vehicles.

State-of-the-Art HONEYCERAM Production Line to be added at Ishikawa Plant

UN Approves NGK Insulator’s CO2 Emissions Reduction Project in Mexico as a Clean Development Mechanism

NGK Insulators, Ltd. has announced that a CO2 emissions reduction project being conducted by its manufacturing subsidiary NGK CERAMICS MEXICO, S. DE R.L. DE C.V. in Mexico was approved by the United Nations as a Clean Development Mechanism („CDM“). The project was approved by the UN CDM Executive Board and registered as a CDM on September 14, 2012. Going forward, the project is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 5,000 tons a year.

NGK to Increase Production Capacity for High-precision NOx Sensor

NGK Insulators, Ltd. has announced an increase of production capacity for vehicle high-precision NOx sensors, which detect NOx density in vehicle exhaust gas. NGK expects to see a rapid expansion in demand for NOx sensors with a worldwide tightening of diesel exhaust gas regulations and therefore will increase its annual production capacity to seven million units by 2014 to ensure a stable supply of NOx sensors.

NGK to ramp up production capacity by 40% by investing 37 billion yen in six production sites worldwide

NGK expects to enter into long-term supply agreements for ceramic products for diesel automotive exhaust gas purifiers with major customers. Accordingly, NGK will ramp up production capacity by investing approximately 37 billion yen in six production sites for ceramics products for automotive exhaust gas purifiers worldwide, including Poland. Through these investments, NGK will successively expand production capacity for ceramic products for cordierite automotive exhaust gas purifiers, with the view to increasing production capacity by around 40% by the end of fiscal 2013.
